The Disney parks are always fun not matter what age you are, but there are several adventures that can make your experience more unique.
The Behind the Seeds tour gives you an up close look at the future of agriculture. The tour takes you through Disney’s greenhouses located in The land at Epcot. The greenhouses provide food to all the restaurants throughout the park and other areas on Disney’s property. During the one-hour walking tour you will witness the latest plant-growing techniques, visit the fish farm (look for the hidden Mickey’s in the tanks), and learn more about what Disney is doing for the future of agriculture.
If you’re ok with getting up early taking surfing lessons in the wave pool at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a fun way to start the day. The $150 price gets you three hours of surfing lessons with the Ron Jon Surf School before the park opens. The class sizes are limited to 13 people so you get more time surfing the waves and more personal instructions from one of the two instructors.
Learn how to draw your favorite Disney characters. Classes are held about every 30 minutes and if you go later in the day it’s less crowded. You won’t know ahead of time who you will draw, but an instructor will guide you along the way. You also get to keep the artwork you create!
Tour the backstage infrastructure that maintains the Caribbean Coral Reef, a 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium at the Seas in Epcot. Once you’ve toured behind the scenes jump in and swim with over 6,000 sea creatures including sea turtles, angelfish, dolphins, eagle rays and sharks. You must be SCUBA-certified to participate.
The Backstage Magic Tour is a seven-hour tour that takes you to see the inter-workings of the Disney parks first hand. The tour takes you to all 4 parks, the nursery and tree farm, as well as the Central Shops where you get to see craftsmen at work. During the seven-hours you’ll see everything from the backlots to how different rides work and the Utiladors beneath Magic Kingdom. This is the tour to take if you are a true Disney fan.
There lots of unique ways to experience the Disney parks so pick one a go try it. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for hidden mickeys along the way you never know where you might find them.
